Gong Alternatives: An Honest Guide to the Category in 2026
Gong started shipping AI roleplay in February. That changes the shortlist.

Most "Gong alternatives" lists were written before February 2026, when Gong started shipping AI roleplay itself. That one change reshuffles the shortlist, because "Gong doesn't do rep practice" was the wedge half this category used to sell against it. Here is the current set, with real prices where vendors publish them.
Fair warning about what this page is. We sell a product in this category, so read it with that in mind. What we can promise is that nothing here is invented. Every date and price comes from a primary source, mostly the vendors' own pages, and where we could not verify something we say so instead of filling the gap.
What are the best alternatives to Gong?
There is no single best one, because four different kinds of product get filed under the same label. Revenue platforms (Gong, ZoomInfo Chorus, Clari Copilot). Notetakers (Avoma, Fathom, Fireflies). Roleplay-native practice tools (Mindtickle, Second Nature, Quantified.ai, Hyperbound). And call-loop assistants like WingRep that sit on top of whatever you already record with.
Pick the wrong bucket and price comparisons stop meaning anything. A $10 notetaker and a quote-only revenue platform are not competing for the same job.
| Tool | What it is | Ships AI roleplay? | Published price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gong | Revenue AI platform | Yes, since Feb 2026 | Quote only |
| ZoomInfo Chorus | Conversation intelligence inside ZoomInfo | Not on the product page | Quote only |
| Clari Copilot | Real-time call assist inside Clari | No | Quote only |
| Avoma | Meeting assistant plus call scoring | No | $19 to $39 |
| Fathom | AI notetaker | No | Free, then $15 to $25 |
| Fireflies.ai | Transcription and conversation intelligence | No | Free, then $10 to $39 |
| Mindtickle | Revenue enablement platform | Yes | Quote only |
| Second Nature | Roleplay simulator | Yes, roleplay is the product | Quote only |
| Quantified.ai | Six-agent platform for regulated industries | Yes | Quote only |
| Hyperbound | Practice plus real-call scoring | Yes | Quote only |
| WingRep | Prep, live assist and follow-up around every call | No. Live assist instead | $50 |
Prices checked August 2026. Competitor prices are per seat per month billed annually, taken from each vendor's own pricing page. Anything marked "quote only" means the vendor does not publish a number.
Does Gong have AI roleplay now?
Yes. Gong launched AI Trainer on February 25, 2026 as part of a release it called Mission Andromeda, inside a new product line called Gong Enable. Reps rehearse things like pricing objections and renewal risk against AI-generated simulations. On June 24, 2026 Gong added Dry Run, which spins up a roleplay straight from a calendar invite.
Dry Run is the more interesting of the two. It builds the buyer persona from real account context rather than a generic template, so the rep practices the meeting they are actually about to walk into. Gong said GA was expected in July 2026. AI Coach also went GA in June 2026.
This matters for your shortlist more than any feature comparison table. For years, the pitch from roleplay vendors was that Gong could tell you what went wrong after the call but could not help you practice before it. That stopped being true this year. If a vendor is still running that line at you in a demo, they are selling from a 2025 script.
How much does Gong cost?
Gong does not publish pricing. The model is per-user licenses plus a platform fee that scales with user count, quoted deal by deal. So you cannot compare it on price without going through a sales cycle, and your renewal number moves when your headcount does. Budget for both parts.
Two more numbers worth having straight, because they get repeated wrong constantly.
Gong disclosed on May 12, 2026 that ARR had passed $500M and was growing more than 55% year over year. Whatever you think of the price, this is not a company in trouble, and "they might get acquired and disappear" is not a serious objection here.
The $7.25B valuation everyone quotes comes from the $250M Series E announced on June 3, 2021. That mark is five years old. Total disclosed funding is $584M. If someone tells you Gong is "a $7.25 billion company" today, they are reading a 2021 press release. The current number is not public.
Which Gong alternatives actually do AI roleplay?
Four tools where practice is a first-class product rather than a bolt-on: Mindtickle, Second Nature, Quantified.ai and Hyperbound. This is the most decision-useful cut in the whole category, because it splits tools that help a rep get better before the call from tools that only tell you what happened after it.
Mindtickle is the full enablement platform of the group. Content, training, call scoring, plus AI Sales Role Play and an AI Role Play Simulator, and an agentic layer it calls ElevateOS. Its site cites Cisco at a 31% increase in deal size. That is a vendor claim with no published method, so treat it as marketing rather than evidence.
Second Nature is the purest version. Roleplay is the whole product rather than a module bolted onto one. Video-avatar and multi-persona simulations, 30-plus languages, and SCORM or LTI packaging so it drops into an existing LMS. It claims 34% ramp reduction across 2,000-plus teams. Again, vendor-reported.
Quantified.ai aims squarely at life sciences and other regulated industries. Six agents including AI Roleplay, Readiness Coach, Field Coach and an MLR and on-label Compliance Agent. It names Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi, Takeda and Bayer on its site. If you are running a pharma field force and the compliance review is the thing that slows you down, this is the one on the list built for that problem. We wrote more about that scenario in coaching field reps at scale.
Hyperbound splits into Practice (AI roleplay), Perform (scoring real calls) and Kota Activate (agents). 25-plus languages, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and a claim of 100,000-plus reps. Y Combinator backed.
None of these four publish a raise figure on their own sites, so any funding number you see quoted for them is secondhand.
Is ZoomInfo Chorus still a real option?
Chorus still exists, sold as ZoomInfo Chorus. ZoomInfo acquired it in July 2021 for a reported $575M, though that figure comes from secondary coverage rather than a filing we could reach. chorus.ai now redirects into ZoomInfo. There is no AI roleplay on the current product page.
The case for it is narrow and real: if you already pay ZoomInfo for contact data, buying conversation intelligence from the same vendor removes a procurement cycle and one more integration. The case against is that it has stopped being the reference point in call recording, and the roadmap follows ZoomInfo's priorities rather than a standalone product's.
What happened to Clari, Salesloft and Drift?
Clari and Salesloft merged. The agreement was announced August 7, 2025 and completed December 3, 2025, with Steve Cox named CEO of the combined company. Terms were not disclosed. Separately, Drift is being sunset. That was announced March 5, 2026, with 1mind named the exclusive successor for existing Drift customers.
The Drift language used was "gradual sunset," and no end-of-life date has been published. If you are a Drift customer, that is a question for your account team, not for a blog post.
Clari Copilot is the call product in that family, formerly Wingman. Clari announced the Wingman acquisition on June 15, 2022 and terms were not disclosed. There is no press release for the rename, so treat any specific date for the Clari Copilot rebrand as unverified. It does real-time transcription, live battlecards, playbooks and Gametapes. No AI roleplay.
Our honest read: a company that closed a merger in December 2025 and announced a product sunset the following March is a company whose roadmap is still moving. Worth asking, in writing, which lines are surviving and what the support commitment is.
Can a notetaker replace Gong?
For a small team that mainly wants recordings, transcripts, CRM notes and simple call scoring, yes, and for a tenth of the money. Avoma runs $19 to $39 per seat and scores calls against MEDDICC, Sandler and SPICED scorecards. Fathom is free to start, then $15 to $25 on paid plans. Fireflies.ai is free, then $10 to $39.
Fathom is the one running an explicit "Switching from Gong?" migration offer, which tells you who it thinks it is taking budget from.
What you give up is everything past the transcript. No deal-level rollups. No forecasting. No rep practice, in any of the three. And the coaching value of a call library is roughly zero if nobody has time to watch calls, which is the actual failure mode we see most often. We went deeper on that trade in WingRep vs notetakers.
What about Airspeed, Chirp, Kickscale, Uniphore and Rings AI?
Airspeed, Chirp, Kickscale, Uniphore and Rings AI show up in Gong comparison searches often enough to be worth addressing here, even though we are not going to rank them. We could not verify pricing, roleplay capability or basic company detail for them from primary sources this pass, so we are not going to rank them. Publishing a confident comparison of a tool we have not checked is exactly what this page is trying not to do.
If one of them is on your list, four questions sort it fast:
- Do they publish a price, or is everything quote-only? Quote-only is not disqualifying, but it tells you what the sales cycle will look like.
- Does it do rep practice, or only review calls after they happen? Ask for the roleplay in the demo, live, not a recording of one.
- SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and will they send the actual report under NDA? A logo on a website is not an audit.
- What happens to your recordings and transcripts if you leave? Get the export path in writing before you sign, not after.
Where does WingRep fit?
WingRep is $50 per seat per month with a 30-day trial. Among the tools here that do more than transcribe and publish a price at all, that is the low end. It works before, during and after every call: prep the rep, assist them live, then automate the follow-up. CRM sync and the Gong integration are both included rather than sold as add-ons.
The part worth being straight about: WingRep integrates with Gong instead of replacing it. If your team already runs on Gong and the gap is that reps show up unprepared and the CRM is a mess afterwards, you do not need to rip anything out. That is what the Gong integration is for.
And the limits, since a comparison page that only lists strengths is not worth reading. WingRep is not a revenue operating system. There is no forecasting product, no deal-inspection suite, no enablement LMS with content management and certification tracking. If you want one platform to run the entire revenue org, Gong or Mindtickle is a closer fit, and we would rather tell you that here than three weeks into an evaluation. Our security posture is on the trust page, and the full price is on pricing because we think hiding it is a tell.
How should you actually choose?
Five situations, five different answers.
- You want one platform for the whole revenue org and have the budget. Gong. It is the most complete product in the category and it now covers practice too. Get the platform fee in writing early.
- You need to onboard a large field team fast in a regulated industry. Quantified.ai, and Mindtickle as the second look. The compliance agent is the differentiator, not the roleplay.
- Practice is the entire problem and you already have call recording. Second Nature or Hyperbound.
- You are a small team that just needs calls captured and notes in the CRM. Fathom or Fireflies. Avoma if you also want structured call scoring.
- Your reps are unprepared going in and your CRM is empty coming out. That is the loop WingRep was built for, and it runs alongside whatever you already record with.
Common questions
Does Gong do AI roleplay?
Yes. Gong launched AI Trainer on February 25, 2026 inside Gong Enable. On June 24, 2026 it announced Dry Run, which generates a roleplay from a calendar invite using real account context, with general availability expected that July. AI Coach reached general availability in June 2026. Any comparison written before spring 2026 says otherwise and is out of date.
What is the cheapest alternative to Gong?
Among tools that publish a price, Fireflies.ai starts at $10 per seat per month and Fathom has a free tier. For a product that does more than transcription, WingRep is $50 per seat per month with a 30-day trial. Gong itself does not publish pricing, so no direct comparison is possible.
Is ZoomInfo Chorus the same as Gong?
No. They were competitors before ZoomInfo acquired Chorus in July 2021 for a reported $575M. Both record and analyze sales calls, but Chorus is now sold as part of ZoomInfo and its product page lists no AI roleplay. It makes most sense for teams already buying ZoomInfo data.
Do I have to replace Gong to add coaching?
No. WingRep integrates with Gong rather than competing for the recording layer, and the integration is included in the $50 per seat price. If Gong is already installed and adopted, replacing it to solve a coaching problem is an expensive way to fix the wrong thing.
What is Gong's valuation in 2026?
Not public. The widely quoted $7.25B comes from the $250M Series E announced June 3, 2021, so it is five years old. What Gong has disclosed more recently is ARR above $500M growing more than 55% year over year, as of May 12, 2026.
Is Clari Copilot the same as Wingman?
Yes. Clari announced the acquisition of Wingman on June 15, 2022 and later renamed it Clari Copilot. No press release exists for the rebrand, so the exact rename date is not verifiable. It does real-time transcription, battlecards, playbooks and Gametapes, and no AI roleplay.
